Air Quality Monitoring Network in Kanagawa Prefecture

 Air Quality Monitoring Network is comprised of monitoring stations by Kanagawa Prefectural Government, and by Yokohama, Kawasaki, Yokosuka, Hiratsuka, Fujisawa or Sagamihara Cities.

Monitoring Objective
  1. Enviromental Criteria:
    Sulfur dioxide, Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide, Photochemical oxidant, Suspended particulate matter

  2. Others:
    Noncriteria Pollutants:
    Nitrogen monoxide, Methane, Nonmethane hydrocarbons

    Meteorological Paramenters:
    Wind direction, Wind speed, Ambient air temperature, Humidity

Type of Monitoring Station
  1. Ambient air quality monitoring station:
    This type of station is set up in order to measure air quality in downtowns and residential areas.

  2. Automobile exhaust gas monitoring station:
    This type of station measures air quality caused by automobile exhaust gases, and is located near by highways and main roads.

  3. Mobile monitoring station:
    This type of station is installed at any place as occasion arises.
